The Slone Wantok Corpus

Tok Pisin (Neo-Melanesian) is the lingua franca of Papua New Guinea. The Slone Wantok Corpus (SWC) is a collection of folk tales that appears in the Stori Tumbuna column of the Wantok newspaper, which is published in Tok Pisin.

These folk tales were collected and translated into English by Thomas Slone, who later published the translations in a two-volume collection entitled One Thousand One Papua New Guinean Nights.
